Political and Social Problems of Pakistan

From the very first day of its existence, Pakistan has been facing many crisis and problems in political, social and economic drawback. Recently Pakistan is passing through a series of chronic and painful problems including political, socioeconomic, energy crises, security, uncertainty in Balochistan, poverty, unemployment, political distress, day to day suicide bombing, foreign Drones attacks and worst situation of law and order in FATA, Sindh, Punjab and NWFP. These all are brain blasting and heart pinching circumstances for all true Pakistanis.

Although Pakistan has been facing many crisis and problems since the time of its independence, but today the number of problems has reached to an extreme. From the basic necessities like food, clothes and shelter, life security, corruption, useless public institutions and absence of law and order to international involvement in regional issues have affected all the citizens of the country.

A social problem is a harmful social condition, according to the beliefs and values of some influential or dominant group in the society. A harmful social condition becomes a social problem when a social need persists over some time and is not provided for because there are a number of competing needs while the proposed budget is not sufficient to cater for all of them. Thus social problems involve social issues. Pakistan is facing a lot of social problems, which basically include: low literacy rate, forced labour, un-employment, rapid population growth, religious and inter-provincial conflicts, drug addiction, smuggling, kidnapping and prostitution.

Pakistan is also victim of some political problems, especially after the start of 21st century. Political problems are lead by none other than the political parties themselves. These problems greatly affect the normal people. Some political problems have been created on national level, where as others are of provincial, regional or local level. National level problems those affect the citizens directly or indirectly, are corruption, political instability, inter-province conflicts, terrorism, absence of law-enforcement, price hiking and injustice. Whereas provincial or regional problems are absence of local government bodies, over-control of policing, development of criminal groups, absence of law in favour of victims, poor behavour of service delivery public institutions.

Local level political and social problems are crime hiking rate, bribery, life, honour and property insecurity, racism, radicalism and different kinds of feudalism.

Every citizen is victim of the problems mentioned above. But none of the citizen is capable to reduce these curse hurdles. It looks the ruing class would never take interest to look into the matter and the victim class is not empowered to stop these human sufferings.
